Lighting Installation in Hudson Oaks
New fixtures, recessed lights, dimmers and outdoor lighting, installed on wiring we check first. If a storm cracked a porch light or left your yard dark, we replace it with parts rated for the weather and make sure the circuit behind it is safe.

Light Where You Need It, Wired the Right Way
Most lighting jobs look simple from the floor. The real work is above the ceiling and inside the wall: a box that can hold the weight of the fixture, connections that stay tight, and a circuit that is not already carrying more than it should. We look at all of that before a new light goes up.
We are a licensed electrical contractor, TECL 36609, with 5 years in business. A lot of our lighting calls come after rough weather, when hail or wind has broken an outdoor fixture or water has worked its way into one. We tell you what happened, replace what needs replacing and leave the rest alone.
What Our Lighting Work Covers
- Recessed and can lights
- We lay out recessed lights so a room is evenly lit, not spotted. We use fixtures rated for contact with insulation where the attic calls for it.
- Ceiling fixtures and fans
- Chandeliers, pendants and ceiling fans need a box rated for their weight. We swap in a fan-rated or support box when the old one is not up to it.
- Dimmers and switches
- We match the dimmer to the bulb type so LEDs do not buzz or flicker. Three-way and multi-location switching are part of it too.
- Outdoor and security lighting
- Porch lights, flood lights, motion sensors and landscape lighting, all with wet-location rated fixtures, sealed boxes and GFCI protection where it belongs.
- Storm-damaged fixture replacement
- We remove broken or waterlogged fixtures, check the box and wiring for moisture or corrosion, and install a sturdy replacement.
Signs It Is Time to Call About Your Lighting
Lights flicker or dim on their own
A loose connection at the fixture or switch is a common cause. It is worth checking before it heats up.
A fixture or switch plate feels warm
Heat at a light or switch points to an overloaded circuit, a wrong bulb wattage or a failing connection. Turn it off and have it looked at.
A storm broke or flooded an outdoor light
Cracked glass and water inside a housing let moisture reach live wires. Leave it switched off until it is replaced.
Dark corners, stairs or driveway
If you are carrying a flashlight to the back door, added lighting is a safety fix, not just a nice extra.
Old fixtures with brittle wires
Wires that crumble or look scorched where they enter an older fixture should be repaired before a new light is hung on them.
How a Lighting Job Goes
- 1
Talk it through by phone
Tell us what you want lit or what got damaged. We book a service visit at a time that suits you.
- 2
Look before we plan
We check the existing boxes, the circuit and the attic or wall access. Then you get a written estimate that lists each fixture and any wiring fixes, so nothing shows up later as a surprise.
- 3
Install day
We put down drop cloths, shut off only the circuits we are working on, and keep ceiling cuts small and neat. If your job calls for a permit, we pull it ourselves and set up the inspection so you do not have to.
- 4
Walkthrough and cleanup
We switch on every light, dimmer and sensor with you in the room so you can see it working. Then we haul away old fixtures and packaging and vacuum up the drywall dust.

What Shapes the Cost of Lighting Installation
Two jobs with the same number of lights can price very differently. It mostly comes down to what is behind the ceiling and how hard it is to reach. We explain each line on your estimate before any work starts.
- Number and type of fixtures
- A straight swap of one fixture is quick. Six new recessed lights with a new switch location take more time and material.
- Access and ceiling height
- An open attic above makes wiring easy. A two-story entry, a vaulted ceiling or a finished space above means more careful work.
- Condition of the wiring and boxes
- If a box is too weak for a fan or wiring is damaged, fixing that comes first and is listed separately.
- New circuits and outdoor runs
- Adding a circuit at the panel or running wire to a fence line or garden costs more than tapping an existing indoor line.
- Who supplies the fixtures
- You can buy your own or we can supply them. Either way, outdoor fixtures need a wet-location rating.
Lighting Installation Questions
Something not covered here? (682) 509-0416
Can you install light fixtures I already bought?
Yes. We will check that they suit the location, especially outdoors where a wet-location rating matters. If a fixture is too heavy for the existing box, we tell you and replace the box.
Hail cracked my porch light. Is it safe to leave it on?
Switch it off at the wall until it is replaced. Rain getting into a cracked housing can reach live connections. When we replace it, we also check the box and wires for water damage and corrosion.
Can you add recessed lights without tearing up the ceiling?
Usually, yes. With attic access above, we fish wire and cut only the openings for each light. Rooms without attic space above can take a few extra small access holes, which we point out before starting.
Do lighting jobs need a permit?
Some do, especially new circuits and added lighting. Your estimate says up front whether yours needs one. If it does, we take care of the paperwork and meet the inspector, and the permit cost is shown as its own line.
Why do my new LED bulbs flicker on the dimmer?
Most older dimmers were built for incandescent bulbs and do not play well with LEDs. Swapping in an LED-compatible dimmer usually fixes it. If it does not, we look for a loose connection.
