ServicesWhole-Home Rewiring
Whole-Home Rewiring in Hudson Oaks
When your home's wiring is worn out, patched together over the years or hit hard by a storm, we replace it circuit by circuit with new copper and grounded outlets. A permit and inspection back the work, and you see a clear plan before any wall is opened.

When rewiring is the right call
Most electrical problems need only a single repair. Rewiring makes sense when the trouble is not in one spot. The original wire may be brittle or ungrounded, several rooms may show problems at once, or a lightning strike or roof leak may have affected runs in more than one part of your home. Patching each failure separately costs more over time and still leaves old wire in the walls.
We are a licensed electrical contractor, TECL 36609, and every rewiring job starts with a look at what you have. If a targeted electrical repair or a panel upgrade will solve the problem, we'll tell you so. If the wiring itself is the issue, we'll show you why with photos and test readings.
After a storm, most people want things back to normal fast. We help you sort out what has to be made safe right away and what can be planned calmly, so you don't rush into a full rewire you may not need.
What a whole-home rewire includes
- New branch circuits throughout
- We run new copper wire from the panel to your outlets, switches and fixtures, sized for how each room is used today. Kitchens, laundry rooms and bathrooms get the dedicated circuits current code calls for.
- Grounded outlets and modern protection
- Two-prong outlets are replaced with grounded receptacles. We add GFCI protection near water and AFCI protection where code requires it, which helps catch arcing in pinched or worn wire before it becomes a fire.
- A look at your panel
- A rewire is a good time to check whether your panel can carry the load. If it is undersized or worn, we price a panel upgrade as a separate line so you can decide on it yourself.
- Smoke alarm circuits
- Hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are reconnected on the new wiring and interconnected where code requires.
- Permit and inspections
- We pull the permit and schedule the inspections required by the local jurisdiction. Before work starts, we also agree with you on how the small wall and ceiling openings will be patched.
Signs your home may need rewiring
Warm plates or scorch marks
An outlet or switch cover that feels warm, smells hot or shows brown marks means heat is building at a connection. When it shows up in more than one room, the wiring behind it is often the real cause.
Trouble in several rooms at once
Breakers tripping in different parts of the house, lights dimming across rooms or outlets that work one day and not the next point to a wiring problem rather than a single bad device.
Older wire types
Cloth-insulated wire, ungrounded circuits and aluminum branch wiring found in some older homes don't hold up well to today's loads.
Damage after lightning or a leak
A nearby strike or water coming through the attic during a spring storm can leave several outlets dead or a burning smell in the walls. Leave those breakers off until someone has tested the circuits.
Years of add-ons
Splices hidden without junction boxes, mixed wire sizes and extension cords doing permanent duty are signs that past work was never done as one plan.
How a rewiring job runs
- 1
Assessment visit
We test your circuits, open the panel and check the attic and accessible boxes. You get photos and notes on what we found, including anything that needs to be made safe right away.
- 2
Written plan and estimate
The estimate lays out the scope room by room, the order we'll work in and which areas will be without power and when. Nothing starts until you approve it.
- 3
Permit and rough-in
With the permit in hand, we run new wire through the attic and walls, working in sections so the rest of your home keeps power where possible. Floors and furniture are covered, and the rough-in is inspected before walls are closed.
- 4
Finish, test and final inspection
We install new devices, test every circuit and label the panel clearly. After the final inspection, we clean up and walk you through what changed.

What sets the price of a rewire
Homes vary too much for a set price, so we quote a rewire only after seeing yours. Your written estimate breaks the job into parts so you know where the money goes. These factors move the total most.
- Home size and circuit count
- Additional rooms, outlets and dedicated circuits add wire and labor hours.
- How easy the walls are to reach
- A spacious attic speeds up the runs. Two stories, shallow attics and finished ceilings call for slower wire fishing and a few more small openings.
- Surprises inside the walls
- Water or storm damage, insulation chewed by rodents or buried splices can mean extra repairs. We photograph anything unexpected and check with you before continuing.
- State of the panel and service
- When the new circuits require a replacement panel, that cost appears as a separate line so it is easy to see.
- Permit and current code
- Permit fees and the protection today's code calls for, like AFCI and GFCI devices, come with the job and are listed in the estimate.
Common rewiring questions
Something not covered here? (682) 509-0416
Can we live at home during the rewire?
Most families stay put. We work through the house in sections and, where possible, turn power back on in finished areas each evening. The estimate notes which rooms are affected and when.
Does the whole house really need new wiring?
Not necessarily. The problem or the old wire may sit on just a few circuits, and a partial rewire or an electrical repair may do. We show you what we found and tell you honestly which way to go.
Is storm-damaged wiring covered by my insurance?
Your insurer and your policy decide that. We can record what we find in photos and written notes for your adjuster and explain it in plain language, but we don't serve as the adjuster.
How much time does a rewire take?
That depends on the home's size, how easy the attic is to work in and what we uncover in the walls. Your estimate includes a timeline, and we update you as each section wraps up.
How much experience do you have?
We've spent 5 years in business rewiring and repairing homes in Hudson Oaks and nearby towns such as Willow Park, Weatherford and Aledo. Each job is permitted and inspected the way the local jurisdiction requires.
Find out what your wiring needs
We'll test your circuits, show you what we find and tell you whether a full rewire is worth it. If a storm just came through, we'll start with what needs to be made safe.
